Advanced Photography Final - Blind Drawings, Text, & Music - December 2008
My last semester of college, in the Fall of 2008, I began to experiment with what I could do with processes other than just plain photography. The need arose when I wanted to photograph dreams, which is, of course, impossible. I started thinking of how I could represent dreams, perhaps through drawing them. Then a project came up in my Advanded Photography class where we were to use a process other than photography for our final. Instead of drawing people's dreams, I turned to people's memories, and how music, or a certain song, can trigger certain memories. I had my volunteers tell me a song and a memory that goes along with that particular song. And it turned into this. A nine minute video of blind drawings of people's memories. It was so much fun, and I am looking forward to revisiting this idea sometime in the future.
